My name is Emily, and I love, love.
After a few photography courses in the 1990's, and a few years of hobbyist work, I crossed over and became a professional photographer in 2006 not long after I wrapped up my Bachelor's degree. (In History, with a minor in Deaf Studies & ASL, if you were curious!) I was led into this profession after working as a nanny to a set of identical twins and photographing them as a gift to their parents. I began receiving inquiries to do shoots off my initial work back in 2004 and have been growing ever since!
To date, I have photographed over 300 weddings over the last eight wedding seasons, and have been shooting nationwide since 2010, with events everywhere from Montana, to Washington DC to Southern California. We also now offer international packages as well!
I really love observing small expressions of affection between groups of people. Little nuances only a careful observer would notice- a loving hand on the small of the back, a giggle, a hug, even a flirtatious and silly eye roll. It makes me hugely happy capturing these “in-between” moments which really add up to the whole of my client’s relationships. It is these moments which truly capture the total and complete picture of our memories, the ones that mean the most, and make us laugh the most years down the line.
I strive to shoot in every style, because I believe that in order to do a really good job, you need to constantly adapt and evolve as an artist. Every session requires the use of formal portraiture, editorial work, photojournalism, styling, and lifestyle shooting. I love expressing myself through my camera, and I love being able to take this small peek into your world!
